AC Milan striker Patrick Cutrone is a transfer target of Napoli for the summer. Ancelotti’s clubs is looking for a replacement for Mertens .

The transfer market is currently the last of Milan’s thoughts. The club’s attention is totally focused on the match against Spal, the last chance to earn a place in Champions League. But also the last match with the Rossoneri colors for many players. Cutrone is one of those players whose permanence at San Siro is not certain for next season.

To date, Patrick Cutrone represents an important asset for Milan, both technical and economic. But for the young Italian striker it as been a difficult season, always as a backup. First with Gonzalo Higuain and later with Krzysztof Piatek. Nevertheless, Gattuso has put him on the pitch every time he had the chance and Cutrone’s game time exceeds 1800 minutes this season.

Coach Gattuso has lots of faith in Cutrone. He even used Patrick as the starting striker in perhaps the most important match of the season against Torino. Unfortunately, Cutrone has failed to replicate his form of last season scoring a total of 9 goals in 42 appearances, finding the back of the net in Serie A only in 3 occasions. The 21-year-old centre forward wants to play a bigger role for the club and is demanding more space. But in the meantime interest around him increases.

Many clubs have inquired on his availability this summer. Torino are desperate to pair him with Belotti while Tottenham are looking a replacement for Fernando Llorente. Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid too have met his agent in recent days. Cutrone’s agent opened up to a sale in recent months but latter withdrew those statements, insisting that Patrick wants to stay at Milan.

Former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is the latest to join a long list of suitors for Cutrone. With Dries Mertens likely to leave this summer, Napoli are searching for a quality striker to fill his void. Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli confirmed for Radio Kiss Kiss, the official channel of the Italian club, that Cutrone is a transfer target of Napoli just like Mauro Icardi of Inter.
