Striker scores hat trick in front of AC Milan scouts
AC Milan scouts traveled to Argentine to follow River Plate striker Julian Alvarez who scored a hat trick before their eyes.
River Plate young star Julian Alvarez is one of the most interesting names in Argentinian football. The talented striker is also one of AC Milan’s most important transfer targets for January and beyond.
AC Milan scouts were at the stadium in River Plate’s last match against San Lorenzo and Alvarez couldn’t have played a better match. River Plate overturned the initial disadvantage thanks to a hat trick from Julian Alvarez. A fantastic performance that left the Rossoneri impressed to say the least.
Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that the 21-year-old has a release clause of 25 million euros. However, Alvarez is set to become a free agent at the end of 2022 and will not sign a new contract. River Plate are willing to sell their gem in January if an offer of 18 million euros arrives according to Schira.
Alvarez’s agent, Fernando Hidalgo, in a recent interview made it clear that Europe is his client’s next destination and that a move to AC Milan is a possibility. “He would be a fine partner with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in attack”, said Hidalgo.
The Rossoneri plan to sign a new striker in January due to the many injuries of Giroud, Ibrahimovic and Pellegri. The contract situation of the Argentine international forces River to monetize as soon as possible in order to avoid losing him for free in one year. Ajax are currently the biggest competitor of AC Milan for the 21-year-old.
