The January transfer window is just days away. While the club is assessing what player to bring in a big chunk of the current squad is expected to leave.
A squad of 32 players for any football team is definitely too large, so much to put in difficulty the technical management for the coach and his staff. And it’s exactly what happens in today’s AC Milan, that under the management of Vincenzo Montella always relied on the usual 16-18 elements making instead useless some players that rarely saw the pitch. Even Gennaro Gattuso, just called in, has made it clear that he wants to work with a rather narrow and more suitable group to play in Serie A and Europa League.
Today, Tuttosport highlights the hierarchies of the AC Milan team under the guidance of new technician Rino Gattuso. In this sense there seem to be numerous players with suitcases already packed while awaiting the January transfer window to open. The former Rossoneri midfielder will certainly not oppose the departure of the so-called redundancies.
The fourth goalkeeper Gabriel will have to look for a new team, given that for him a place in the first team seems almost unthinkable. The same principle also applies for the young defender Jherson Vergara, who is currently out of the squad as many other talents who have never convinced at Milanello like the Italian-Moroccan prodigy Hachim Mastour or the Nigerian striker Namdi Oduamadi.
Possible loan transfer for Jose Mauri, central midfielder who does not seem to be among the most useful for the Rossoneri cause, while at least one between Gabriel Paletta and Gustavo Gomez will be sold in January. The position of Niccolo Zanellato should also be evaluated: the former captain of the Primavera was highly esteemed by Montella, who also awarded him his debut in Europa League. It will depend on Gattuso to decide whether to hold him and give him a minimum of space or to propose a loan move for the 19 year old midfielder.
