Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has been a target of AC Milan for the past two years. The Rossoneri have tried but without success to bring the Spaniard at San Siro.
Alvaro Morata could have been one of AC Milan’s best signings of the last few years. The Spanish striker was often linked with a return in Italy but the Rossoneri failed to find an agreement with Real Madrid and later with Chelsea.
In an interview for Calciomercato, intermediary Beppe Bozzo, revealed the truth about the alleged negotiation between the Rossoneri and the 25 year old striker. Last summer, AC Milan never really negotiated with Morata, as admitted by Bozzo himself who was involved last year to facilitate a deal: “This summer I did not handle any this operations, so I do not have any regrets. Last year, yes, I acted on behalf of Milan“- admitted the agent.
Bozzo then talked in detail about the contacts that took place in June 2017 between AC Milan and Real Madrid, Morata’s club at the time: “We never talked to Real Madrid clearly, because first you always look for an opening. If there’s not an opening from the player and his entourage, then it is obvious that it is useless to speak with the club. There was not enough time to make a deal, because Milan did not want to bother Real Madrid busy with the Champions League final. The thing stayed there, there was an interest but it was more a media thing than anything else“.
Whatever the case the Rossoneri have nothing to regret. Even though Alvaro Morata is one of the best strikers in circulation, AC Milan purchased the absolutely best in Serie A: Gonzalo Higuain. At a time when Morata is struggling in England, Higuain is demonstrating at San Siro that he’s exactly what Milan lacked and needed.
