Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the Liverpool match while Tiemoue Bakayoko has a muscular problem that will keep him out for much longer.
A few hours before the Liverpool match AC Milan have announced that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be following the team in England. The Swedish centre forward has suffered an injury on his Achilles tendon and will continue his recovery at Milanello. Ibrahimovic received a kick by a Lazio player but the Rossoneri doctors are confident the injury is not serious.
However, the situation is different for another player. AC Milan midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko suffered an injury against Lazio as well. While he was lucky to avoid a red car after a harsh foul on Acerbi, the Frenchman had a muscle injury on his left leg, a possible elongation.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Bakayoko risks staying out for nearly one month. The leg problem is not that serious but at the same time it’s quite delicate and it will take some time before seeing the midfielder back in the squad.
The impression is that the 27-year-old will not return before the second international break, the one at the beginning of October. It’s practically sure that Bakayoko will miss at least 6 consecutive matches due to injury, from tomorrow’s encounter with Liverpool to Atalanta-Milan of 3 October. The most likely hypothesis of a return is against Hellas Verona on the 16th of the same month.
The other AC Milan midfielders will have to work overtime in this period with many important matches. Franck Kessie, Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer are currently the three available central midfielders with Rade Krunic set to return for the upcoming league game against Juventus.
