AC Milan working on two statement signings

AC Milan have prioritized the signing of a new attacking midfielder and right winger. Maldini is already at work.

AC Milan are back to work after completing the renewal of Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini. The majority of the squad has returned to train at Milanello while the management is back to work on the transfer market. The priority will be in attack with the Rossoneri determined to improve the quality of their squad.

Journalist Antonio Vitiello reports that AC Milan are working to make two statement signings this summer. New club owner, RedBird Capital’s Gerry Cardinale, wants to make a decent presentation in front of the supporters. RedBird in collaboration with Elliott will invest significantly for a new attacking midfielder and right winger.

Charles De Ketelaere is AC Milan’s top pick for the attacking midfielder role. The young Belgian ace has done great with Clube Brugge in the last three years. Hailed as the new star of Belgian football, the 21-year-old is often compared to his national teammate Kevin De Bruyne.

AC Milan have made an official offer of €20 million plus add-ons for De Ketelaere. Brugge want twice as much but De Ketelaere’s contract expires in two years so their are forced to sell him this summer. Hakim Ziyech is currently the frontrunner for the right winger role. The player has already said yes to the Rossoneri but negotiating with Chelsea is not easy.

The Premier League club are open to let him leave on loan if the buy option/obligation is set at around 25 million. Another obstacle is the player’s high salary with AC Milan asking Chelsea to contribute partially like they are doing for Lukaku at Inter. Despite being in and out of Thomas Tuchel’s first team, AC Milan are fully convinced that Ziyech will be able to make a big difference in Serie A.
