AC Milan working on double signing for January

AC Milan will invest to improve their squad in the January transfer window with two transfers planned for the defence.

AC Milan will enter the mercato in the January transfer window. The primary objective of the Rossoneri will be to improve the defence while a signing in attack can’t be excluded considering the disappointing form of Luka Jovic. What is certain is AC Milan’s intention to sign a new left back an centre back with Geoffrey Moncada already active.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported today that AC Milan are trying to close an agreement for Lloyd Kelly. French defender Pierre Kalulu underwent surgery and will be out for four months, Simon Kjaer has proven unreliable often struggling with fitness issues while Mauricio Pellegrino clearly needs more time to adapt to Serie A.

Under such circumstances AC Milan have decided to sign a new centre back and Lloyd Kelly is the primary target. The 25-year-old English defender plays in the Premier League with Bournemouth. After five years at the English club, Kelly has decided to not renew his contract which is set to expire at the end of the season.

AC Milan will not wait the end of the season and are trying to anticipate his signing for January by offering a compensation to Bournemouth. Lloyd Kelly has made 7 appearances so far often in and out of Bournemouth’s starting squad. AC Milan hope to repeat the same scenario with Fikayo Tomori. He too arrived in January, from a Premier League club, after failing to secure a regular starting spot.

Next on Moncada’s agenda is Juan Miranda. AC Milan already have an agreement to sign Miranda on a a free transfer at the end of the season but want to sign him immediately in January. The 23-year-old Spanish left back is not renewing his contract with Real Betis. He will take the role of Theo Hernandez’s back-up although the former Barcelona talent will be aiming for more.
