Milan vs Roma, probable lineups
Today, at 20:30 CET, AC Milan host Roma at the San Siro stadium. The Rossoneri will try to turn the page after a disappointing final result with Napoli.
It seems as if coach coach Gennaro Gattuso has resolved the doubts he had regarding the defense and the midfield. A couple of players underwhelmed in their seasonal debut against Napoli but still Rino aims to rely in the same starting eleven that faced the Partenopei.
The coach will confirm Gigio between the posts despite the heavy criticism that the youngster has faced after conceding three goals last Saturday. Rino believes that it would be a tough psychological hit for Gigio if he replaces him with Reina after just one match. Mattia Caldara was expected to make his official debut with the Red and Black jersey but he still needs some time to integrate better so Mussacchio will start even today. Ignazio Abate has not impressed during the week forcing Gattuso to deploy Calabria on the right yet again.
While Lucas Biglia was considered as the guilty man for many errors against Napoli, Gattuso has no player to replace him. It’s obvious that the Argentine has fitness issues and can’t play the entire 90 minutes. Hakan Calhanoglu could have been experimented in central midfield but the squad needs him more up front to provide for Higuain. Bakayoko at the moment is not an option.
AC MILAN (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodriguez; Kessie, Biglia, Bonaventura; Suso, Higuain, Calhanoglu.
ROMA (4-2-3-1): Olsen, Karsdrop, Fazio, Manolas, Kolarov, Nzonzi, De Rossi, Pastore, Schick, El Shaarawy, Dzeko.
