Milan, the transfer market strategies before the tour in China
Soon AC Milan will start a small tour in China but before it starts Mirabelli has to define which players to sell and which to sign.
AC Milan’s preparations continue in the best possible way and they begun surrounded by enormous enthusiasm last Wednesday. The rossoneri’s sports center was full of fans with drums, stadium chores and smoke. Nonetheless the new Chinese ownership is not yet happy and still wants to strengthen the team.
Yesterday, sports director, Massimiliano Mirabelli had to transfer part of his work in Milanello to follow the training live and talk to some of the players. The club is thinking about selling, news have emerged about Leonel Vangioni and Andrea Bertolacci. The first will return in Argentina to River Plate while the second is sought by Genoa. Even Mattia De Sciglio and Gabriel Paletta are expected to leave soon, as well as one between Ignazio Abate and Davide Calabria will have to leave Milanello, after the signing of Atalanta’s right back Andrea Conti.
The most important choices will be made before leaving for China on 14-th July. There is a deep need to clear the squad, currently composed of 39 elements. On tour, Peppe Di Stefano reports for Sky Sport 24, will participate only players who are sure to stay, while the others will stay in Milanello. Next Tuesday there will be the first friendly match of the season against Lugano (read here), then on 27 July the club has to win the first leg of the Europa League play-offs.
Meanwhile, next week, on Monday to be precise, Gianluigi Donnarumma’s official signature on the new contract should arrive (for the contract details read here). In addition, the red and blacks are looking for two more signings that will form the skeleton of the team. With Lazio continue the contact for Lucas Biglia, with Claudio Lotito remaining the only obstacle but he should take the final decision on whether or not to sell the Argentinian deep lying playmaker in the coming days. We also should not forget the two targets for the attack. The first, much more realistic, is the one that leads to Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic. The second, although there is a slim chance of happening, is the one that leads to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who recently just refused to move in China.
