AC Milan’s former captain adventure has come to an end. Riccardo Montolivo and the Rossoneri are about to part ways.
Riccardo Montolivo was excluded by technical choice from the tour in the United States. The former captain, as reported by Il Corriere della Sera, took it very badly. After six seasons and 158 games with the Red and Black jersey, in fact, the player expected an explanation, but nothing, just a dry communication from the team manager.
The former Fiorentina is no longer part of coach Gattuso’s plans. Despite having another year remaining in his contract, the 33 year old is excluded from the new 2018/19 project and the Rossoneri are already in search of a replacement.
AC Milan’s plan is to terminate his contract in advance and Italian is well aware. He is expected to find a new team soon with Bologna and Werder Bremen as two potential destinations.
