AC Milan are interested in Atalanta attacking midfielder Josip Ilicic. The Slovenian can arrive under two conditions claims CorSera.
For several days rumors have emerged on AC Milan’s interest in Josip Ilicic. The Rossoneri have been in contact with the player’s agent recently confirmed Gianluca di Marzio. The Slovenian playmaker is an old transfer target of Frederic Massara. Massara tried to sign Ilicic when he was sporting director of Roma but without success.
The current Rossoneri sporting director has opened talks with Ilicic again. The 33-year-old attacking midfielder is expected to leave Atalanta at the end of the season after a fall out with coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
Corriere della Sera repots that Ilicic departure from Atalanta is practically sure to happen at the end of the season and the only reason is his tense relationship with Gasperini. Ilicic’s contract with the Bergamo club expires in one year and Atalanta are forced to sell the Slovenia star this summer in order to avoid losing him for free next year.
AC Milan are very interested and can sign Josip Ilicic under certain conditions. According to CorSera, the transfer can be materialized only in case of Hakan Calhanoglu’s departure. The Turkish attacking midfielder has not yet renewed his contract with the Rossoneri.
The second reason is that the transfer fee must not exceed the 5-7 million euros figure. The possibility of signing a player like Ilicic’s quality for a low price is seen as an excellent opportunity for the Rossoneri club. Despite his 33 years of age the former Palermo remains one of the most decisive players in Serie A with 5 goals and 8 assists in 22 appearances so far.
