AC Milan are about to close the signing Tiemoue Bakayoko but he will not be the only midfielder to join the Rossoneri this summer.
AC Milan are working to to close the signing on loan of Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea as soon as possible, but the Frenchman probably will not be the only reinforcement in midfield in this last week of the summer transfer window. Tuttosport reports that with Locatelli, Montolivo and Jose Mauri who are not part coach Gattuso’s plans, AC Milan are in need of a new central midfielder.
If the three above-mentioned players depart, the only remaining midfielders would be Biglia, Kessie, Bonavantura and Bertolacci, whose future, however, remains uncertain with ongoing negotiations with Genoa. To these should be added Bakayoko soon but at that point the Rossoneri would still lack another reinforcement. For a team that must play in three competitions, at least six midfielders are needed because Gattuso should play with a median of three (4-3-3).
In the middle of the field, the deck can not be short, otherwise it is likely to repeat what happened in the last season, when Kessie and Bonaventura had to play almost always and saw their performances in sharp decline as a result. Gattuso has no intention of finding himself in the same situation and for this he would like to have a new addition besides Bakayoko.
