AC Milan to make six signings this summer
AC Milan plan to bring six new players this summer. The Rossoneri want to improve in every department.
AC Milan are not waiting for the season to end in order to prepare for the summer transfer window. The Rossoneri are already very active on the mercato and plan to bring six new players at San Siro this summer. The first signing has already been completed last year and is called Yacine Adli. The 21-year-old French starlet who has scored one goal and assisted seven with Bordeaux will bring a lot of quality between midfield and attack.
A central defender will certainly arrive and, barring surprises, it will be Sven Botman. AC Milan want the Dutch defender to form the central duo alongside Fikayo Tomori. Two centre backs that can be AC Milan’s defensive backbone for the next decade. The Dutch player has already agreed personal terms with Milan but negotiations with Lille proceed.
Another defender will arrive this summer. Despite his exploits in the African Cup, Fode Ballo-Toure has been a disappointment in his first year at San Siro. The Senegalese left-back has given little contribution in Theo Hernandez’s absence. The Rossoneri are already looking around for alternatives and his replacement will most likely be Italian.
Interesting changes will take place in midfield. Franck Kessie leaves to join Barcelona on a free transfer while Tommaso Pobega returns with the hope of convincing Pioli to stay. Renato Sanches has been identified as the ideal replacement of Kessie but reaching an agreement with the Portuguese midfielder has been more difficult than expected. The parties will resume talks when Jorge Mendes returns in Italy to close Rafael Leao’s contract renewal.
The situation is a bit difficult to decipher in attack. AC Milan are in talks with Sassuolo for Gianluca Scamacca but Divock Origi remains the most likely name to complete AC Milan’s attack alongside Ibrahimovic and Giroud. The Liverpool striker is 27-years-old and becomes a free agents soon.
In addition to the centre forward, AC Milan will sign a new right winger. Someone that can guarantee goals and assists. Domenico Berardi is Stefano Pioli’s top pick but the Rossoneri look unwilling to match Sassuolo’s asking price of 30 million euros. Noa Lang is another interesting alternative. A similar player but much younger and possible available for around 25 million.
