AC Milan will make one last attempt to sign Dominik Szoboszlai. The Red Bull Salzburg star is available for 25 million euros.
Dominik Szoboszlai is expected to change club when the January transfer window opens. It would be a surprise if it went differently. Red Bull Salzburg are aware that they will most likely lose their star player soon.
The 20-year-old midfielder has a 25 million euros release clause that many clubs are ready to exercise. A relatively “low” price for a talent with such great potential. AC Milan are one of the first teams to have noticed his talent since the beginning of the last season.
The Rossoneri have been very close to his signing on two occasions on the past and will make a fresh attempt to purchase him in January. Calciomercato.com reports that AC Milan are again talking to Szoboszlai’s agent over a potential January move. Inter and Juventus are the other two Italian clubs interested in his services.
However, according to different reports, the Hungarian midfielder seems headed to Bundesliga. Leipzig, another club owned by Red Bull, appear to be in pole position for his purchase even though his agent recently declared that no agreement has been reached with any club. The German league could offer him the opportunity to play continuously and grow with less pressure than at a more noble club.
The Rossoneri see Szoboszlai as the perfect replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu. Milan have been unable to renew the Turk’s contract and the risk that Hakan leaves for free at the end of the season is high. Just like last year, Dominik has been in scintillating form this season scoring 8 goals and assisting 9 in 17 appearances so far.
