AC Milan to accelerate midfielder signing after Juve defeat
AC Milan’s defeat against Juventus highlighted the lack of choices in midfield. The Rossoneri will have to speed up the pursuit of a new player.
The long positive streak of AC Milan ended tonight against Juventus. After a good performance in the first-half, the Rossoneri collapsed in the second and lost 3-1. Nevertheless, it can be argued that it was injuries and Covid that ended Milan’s positive run of results rather than Juventus.
Ibrahimovic, Gabbia, Bennacer, Saelemaekers, Tonali, Krunic and Rebic were absent for Milan-Juventus. However, it was absences in midfielder that forced coach Stefano Pioli to use Davide Calabria in a position he has never played before.
The Rossoneri have only four available central midfielders and coach Pioli has often been in a state of emergency. For this reason. Maldini and Massara are searching on the market for a new midfielder and tonight’s performance will force them to accelerate their pursuit.
Until now AC Milan had prioritized the signing of a centre back. Mohamed Simakan is the number one transfer target of the Rossoneri and a deal seems very close. For the midfield position Milan are looking again in France.
Boubakary Soumare would be the ideal player but the Lille star has a high cost. Kouadio Kone is a more realistic option. Toulouse value the 19-year-old at least 10 million euros while Milan hope to lower their asking price to 5 million plus add-ons
