When Massimiliano Mirabeli and Marco Fassone took control of AC Milan last year they promised great things to come for the Rossoneri. Fast forward one year and the club has a totally renovated management and a new owner. Yonghong Li out, in the Americans of Elliot Management Fund who are sparing no investment for AC Milan.
In fact, under the management of the previous ownership, one of the most bizarre AC Milan transfers happened on 16 March. Former sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli signed Nathan Soares Bernardes on a two year contract.
Nathan Soares was a 18 year old striker, totally unknown even in his homeland. What’s more grotesque is the fact that before signing for AC Milan, Nathan Soares Bernardes, a former youth product of Cruzeiro, had been without a team for seven months.
It’s unimaginable to think what made Mirabelli sign a player that for months had failed to secure a professional contract in Brazil. In his Italian adventure the Brazilian played only 34 minutes with Milan Primavera in a cup match against Torino. A horrible and embarrassing performance. As soon as Leonardo was appointed technical director of Milan he took care of the matter.

The news was made public in the last board meeting a few weeks ago where the management discussed the 2017/18 season budget but apparently AC Milan had terminated the contract of Nathan Soares Bernardes during the summer. Many predicted that the anonymous talent no-one had heard of would look for a new club but that’s not what happened.
As reported by Sky Sports, at this point the player has made a wise decision to leave football and devote himself to something else. At just 18, Soares has already hung up his boots, he has returned to Brazil to take another path, music. The boy is a popular and requested DJ at home.
