AC Milan and Nikola Kalinic are set to part ways at the end of the season. The club has lost faith on the Croatian striker and have put him on the market.
The Croatian striker was considered as the ideal man to lead the Rossoneri’s attack this season. A specific request of former coach Montella who believed in the experience of the 30 year old ex Fiorentina. In reality Kalinic proved to be a total flop with only 4 goals in 25 appearances for the red and blacks and continuous underwhelming performances. Now the club has lost patience with him and are ready to let him go.
Kalinic will be sacrificed, maybe in order to reach Edin Dzeko, current number 9 of Roma. Most likely the future of the Croatian will be in Germany or China. According to Calciomercato.com there would be two German Bundesliga clubs interested in Kalinic’s services. Schalke 04 and above all Eintracht Frankfurt. Frankfurt have been the revelation of the season this year in Germany, solid in third place in the standings.
In the event of their qualification for the next Champions League, Eintracht could go all in for Kalinic to secure a centre forward of international experience. AC Milan estimate the value of Croatian at least € 35 million, thus also hoping for a capital gain. Unlikely that the Germans offer such a big fee but for the Chinese clubs it won’t be a problem.
