AC Milan scouts in Benfica vs RB Leipzig: the targets
AC Milan scouts were in Portugal to watch several interesting players in the group G Champions League match between Benfica and RB Leipzig.
On Tuesday evening, at the Da Luz stadium in Lisbon, AC Milan scouts were sent to watch Benfica vs RB Leipzig, a group G Champions League match. The Rossoneri scouts, coordinated by head scout Geoffrey Moncada, are always very active in international matches. Both, already established players and young talents, are of interest to AC Milan.
Benfica is a club that historically produces hot prospects. And this year is no exception. On Tuesday evening some of them played from the first minute. For example, the very promising right-back right Tavares. Other interesting defenders are Ruben Dias, the 22 year old centre back is also followed by Juventus and Manchester United, and his colleague Ferro, 22 year old too.
Second striker Jota striker and playmaker David Tavares, both born in 1999, are two other names tipped for great things in the future. However, AC Milan’s biggest transfer target Gedson Fernandes did not play (injured). The Rossoneri have been following the young central midfielder for nearly a year.
Also in Leipzig there is no shortage of interesting players. Dayot Upamecano, 20-year-old centre back, was on the bench but he remains a player on AC Milan’s radar. Although, many other European big clubs are on his trail and the French defender has a high asking price. His compatriot Ibrahima Konata was a revelation last season.
Among the midfielders whom AC Milan will continue to monitor during the season there are Konrad Laimer and Amadou Haidara. The Austrian was injured in the course of the game and left his place precisely Amadou Haidara. The Mali international is considered as the new Naby Keita.
