AC Milan scouted Benfica star against Barcelona

AC Milan scouted Benfica striker Darwin Nunez in the Champions League match against Barcelona. The 22-year-old scored a brace.

The Rossoneri are seriously interested in the Uruguayan striker who proved lethal yesterday. Darwin Nunez was Benfica’s record signing last season for a figure of 24 million euros. He ended the season with 14 goals and 12 assists attracting the attention of AC Milan who have been following him ever since. The new season has started even better with 6 goals in 7 games so far.

The Rossoneri management are already planning for life after Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Darwin Nunez, together with Dusan Vlahovic, are the two main transfer targets and very similar in style of play. The Uruguay international is a powerful striker, tall, quick and recognized for his positional intelligence.

Nunez has a long-term contract with Benfica until 2025 and a release clause of €150 million. Only a high bid of €50 million could convince the Portuguese giants to sell the 22-year-old striker. AC Milan have postponed the striker signing for next summer and an important investment is expected from Elliott if Champions League participation is secured again.
