AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali will join Newcastle in what will be a record transfer for both clubs and the player.
The transfer of AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali to Newcastle is just a matter of time. What all Rossoneri fans feared is set to become a reality very soon. The 23-year-old Italian star has already played his final match for AC Milan and is set to join Newcastle in a deal that will make him the most expensive transfer ever for an Italian and AC Milan player.
The agreement between AC Milan and Newcastle is at the very last details. The Premier League presented a new and improved bid after their initial proposal of €60 million was rejected. Sandro Tonali will join Newcastle for a fee close to €80 million. The English club have met AC Milan’s asking price.
Tonali has said yes to five-year contract of €8 million per season plus 2 million in add-ons, that’s three times more what he is currently earning at AC Milan. Everything is completed on player side. A crucial meeting was held today between Tonali’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, and the AC Milan management represented by Gorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada to align on the matter.
As already reported by acmilaninfo.com, AC Milan had decided to sell an important player this summer respecting the instructions of club owner Gerry Cardinale. Sandro Tonali will be that player. The 23-year-old central midfielder leaves after three seasons at San Siro guaranteeing a huge capital gain for AC Milan.
Tonali played a key role in AC Milan’s historic Scudetto triumph last year and reaching the Champions League semi-final this year. The Italian midfielder ended the current season with 48 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 10 assists. Tonali is currently participating in EURO U-21 and will join Newcastle after the competitions is over.
