AC Milan receive two offers for winger
AC Milan right winger Samuel Castillejo is out of Pioli’s project and expected to leave during the January transfer window.
AC Milan right winger Samuel Castillejo was left out of the match squad against Juventus as a technical choice according to Stefano Pioli. However, the true motivation is the market and the absence against Juventus is considered as a hint that Samu is about to bid farewell.
Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that AC Milan have received two offers for their player. Sampdoria and Espanyol have contacted the Rossoneri and have asked Samuel Castillejo on loan until the end of the season.
Sampdoria have just appointed Marco Giampaolo as their new coach. The Italian manager wants to team up again with his former player. The two worked together at AC Milan, although for a very short time because Giampaolo was sacked after seven matches in charge.
A return to Spain is also possible for the former Villarreal. Nevertheless, AC Milan would prefer a permanent transfer and, until now, Sampdoria and Espanyol are interested only in a loan move. Whatever the case, the of the Spanish winger at San Siro has come to an end.
The 27-year-old has been out of Pioli’s project this season playing a total of 122 minutes so far. The Rossoneri hope to recoup around 7 million euros from his departure after spending €21 million plus Carlos Bacca to acquire his services from Villarreal in 2018.
