AC Milan talented midfielder Tommaso Pobega has generated lots of interest with Verona and Sassuolo the latest to join the race.
Tommaso Pobega’s 2019/2020 season at Pordenone was quite positive. After the previous experience in Serie C with Ternana, the 21-year-old central midfielder did not suffer from the leap to Serie B. On the contrary, he was one of the best performers in the league.
In the next season Pobega will make a further leap in his career to play in Serie A. According to reports La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan want to keep the Italian talent and give him a chance in the first team. Stefano Pioli has already communicated to the management that he’s in favor of keeping Pobega. The youngster can prove to be a useful alternative in midfield.
AC Milan have already rejected two offers from Hellas Verona and Sassuolo who were ready to make an important investment for Tommaso Pobega. The Rossoneri aim to reach an agreement for the renewal of his contract as soon as possible (current deal expires in 2022). The Trieste-born player is expected to sign an extension until June 2025.
Hellas Verona and Sassuolo are not the first clubs to make offers for the AC Milan prodigy. AC Milan legend and now coach at Benevento Filippo Inzaghi was the first to express interest in the central midfielder in March.
Pordenone has just been eliminated from Alessandro Nesta’s Frosinone in the Serie B playoffs, so Pobega can think about his future at ease. Serie A calls, AC Milan awaits him.
