AC Milan receive last-minute bid for Rebic

Turkish club Fenerbahce are looking to sign AC Milan winger Ante Rebic before the transfer window closes.

In the remaining months until the end of the season AC Milan have to decide who will stay and which players will leave the club. One player whose permanence at San Siro is greatly in doubt for next season is that of Croatian left winger Ante Rebic. The 29-year-old has had a worrisome dip in form in the last two years.

However, there is a chance that the former Eintracht Frankfurt star may leave Serie A in the coming days. Turkish press reports that Fenerbahce have made a bid to sign Ante Rebic from AC Milan. The transfer window is still open in Turkey and it will close on 5 March.

Sporx reports that Fenerbahce have asked to sign Ante Rebic on loan with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season. Fenerbahce are currently second in the Super Lig standings, 7 points behind leaders Galatasaray and with one game less than their cousins.

Rebic is reportedly a specific request of Fenerbahce coach Jorge Jesus. The Turkish club are trying to strengthen their attack before the transfer window is over and would like to add the Croatian winger to their ranks. The Rossoneri are reluctant to part ways with the 29-year-old unless the transfer is permanent and the fee is at least 13 million.

Rebic has lost his regular starter status since the breakthrough of Rafael Leao. This season, the Croatian left winger has recorded only three goals and two assists in 21 appearances. Too little for a player who is amongst the highest paid in the squad with 3.5 million per season until 2025.
