AC Milan reach Botman agreement, details

Sven Botman

AC Milan have reached agreement in principle with Sven Botman. The Dutch centre back has said yes to a five-year contract.

Today was a very important day for AC Milan and their future transfer plans. Surprisingly, the Rossoneri hosted at Casa Milan the agent of Sven Botman who is the top transfer target of the club for the upcoming summer. The meeting was positive in all possible aspects.

Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that AC Milan and Sven Botman have agreed personal terms. The 22-year-old centre back has said yes to a five-year contract at 2.5 million euros per season plus add-ons. In addition, Botman has rejected other important offers and wants to join only AC Milan.

The Rossoneri tried to sign the Netherlands international in January but without success. Lille were adamant in their decision to keep the talented defender until the end of the season. The French clubs aims to progress in the next round of Champions League and also secure a spot in the top four of Ligue 1.

AC Milan technical director Paolo Maldini is the one who is pushing Elliott to spend a high transfer fee of Botman. Maldini is confident that the partnership of Botman and Fikayo Tomori will be one of the strongest duos across Europe. In addition, considering their age, Botman and Tomori could form a partnership with the potential to last for a decade.

Contacts between the two clubs have never stopped. Lille plan to collect a high transfer fee from Botman’s sale while the Rossoneri are negotiating on a total figure of around 33 million euros.
