After Ibrahimovic, AC Milan have reached an agreement with Barcelona to sign Jean-Clair Todibo for a fee of €20 million.
A few days ago AC Milan announced the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the remaining of the season with the option of a one-year renewal. Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban are now working to close the arrival of Jean-Clair Todibo.
All Italian media have confirmed that AC Milan have reached an agreement to sign Jean-Clair Todibo from Barcelona. The 20-year-old centre back is set to arrive on loan with the right to make the move permanent at the end of the season for a fee of €20 million. Barcelona will not have a buy-back clause.
The two clubs have been negotiating for a while. Everything started when Paolo Maldini was impressed by the performance of Todibo in a Champions League match against Inter played at the San Siro. The parties found quickly an agreement on the transfer fee but Barcelona insisted on having a buy-back clause, something unacceptable for Milan’s transfer policy.
Nevertheless, AC Milan must still convince the player. The Rossoneri have offered Todibo a contract of 500 thousand euros while German clubs, Red Bull Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen, are willing to offer him more. However, the Bundesliga duo don’t have an agreement with Barcelona.
AC Milan are in contact with the player’s agent and an agreement on personal terms is expected to be closed shortly. The Rossoneri are very confident despite the interest of RB Leipzig and Leverkusen.
