AC Milan put Rafael Leao price tag

AC Milan are resigned to lose Rafael Leao at the end of the season and have already put a price tag to his name.

The AC Milan management expressed enthusiasm regarding the renewal of Rafael Leao near the end of 2022 and everything was supposed to be completed in January. A sudden U-turn has happened and the chance for a contract extension looks very slim with the Rossoneri already preparing for life after Leao.

The statements of the Portuguese left winger before the start of the match against Atalanta were a clear hint. “I feel good here in Milan. I’m talking to people who need to talk about this matter. Let’s see what happens at the end of the season”, said Leao. However, the Rossoneri have no intention to wait for the end of the season.

Either Leao renews now or he will be sold this summer and the second scenario is the most likely one. AC Milan will not repeat another Donnarumma or Kessie situation to lose their most prized asset on a free transfer. As things are looking, Rafael Leao is destined to leave the Italian champions at the end of the season.

According to reports from Italy, AC Milan have set the price tag for Rafael Leao to €100 million. Despite having only one year left to his contract with Milan, the club are confident to receive such a high fee for the 23-year-old left winger. Leao is wanted in the Premier League with Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool monitoring closely his situation.

Rafael Leao is having another positive season with the Red and Blacks. He has found the back of the net on 9 occasions and provided 10 assists in 32 appearances so far. The recent formation change to 3-4-2-1 has penalized the Portuguese winger who is forced to play more in a central position. Nevertheless, he remains a key figure for Stefano Pioli’s squad.
