AC Milan pressing for Gonzalo Maroni
AC Milan continue to negotiate the sale of Gustavo Gomez with Boca Juniors and everything may be closed soon with the inclusion of Gonzalo Maroni.
The January priorities for AC Milan seem to be double: shrink the current squad from redundancies and strengthen (especially) the midfield and defense. The search for a vice-Kessie, or a dynamic and speedy midfielder that can replace the former Atalanta Ivorian is a necessity. After recent inquiries in Europe the Rossoneri have moved to the South American continent, where sports director Massimiliano Mirabelli is negotiating some important transfers.
Tuttosport reports today of an important push of the Rossoneri for an Argentine talent who has been heavily mentioned in recent days. It seems that AC Milan are strongly interested in the 18 year old Gonzalo Maroni. He is a young central midfielder (can easily transform in attacking midfielder) who plays for Boca Juniors. His contract is expiring in June 2019 and therefore could soon leave Buenos Aires without too many difficulties.
The Maroni operation could be facilitated by another player. Gustavo Gomez has been the subject of negotiations between AC Milan and Boca Juniors for weeks. There is still no agreement between the clubs, given that the Rossoneri have precise economic demands and the Argentineans have not yet satisfied them. Reports suggest that the Rossoneri want Maroni (plus cash) in exchange for Gomez. A plot that can satisfy both sides. The Paraguayan centre back wants only the Xeneizes. He refused WBA, Swansea City and Crotone.
Another young talent in the orbit of Milan these days is the Brazilian Lincoln. After the game with Crotone sports director Mirabelli admitted the Rossoneri’s interest on both young players as part of the strategy for the future of the club.
