AC Milan planning Suso-like solution for Castillejo

AC Milan could loan Samu Castillejo back to Spain in a similar deal to what happened with Jesus Suso last season.

The start to the season has been complicated for Samu Castillejo. Alexis Saelemaekers has now taken his place as the regular starter on the right wing. The Spaniard is forced to patiently wait his chance on the benche and on a number of occasions has struggled to show his qualities in important games.

With the arrival of Brahim Diaz and Jens Peter Hauge, the former Villarreal risks playing less and less for AC Milan and the idea of a farewell in January is becoming more and more possible.

The 25-year-old player is especially popular in Spain, where he is followed by Villarreal, who would like to bring him home, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla. According to reports by TodoFichajes, Sevilla are in pole position with sporting director Monchi and coach Lopetegui valuing the former Villarreal star.

The Spanish portal claims that a deal could be made if AC Milan agree to loan Castillejo for the remaining of the season at Sevilla with an option to make the move permanent. Just like what happened with Suso, during the last January transfer window.

In recent days, AC Milan have been approached by Marseille. The French club wanted to explore the possibility of a swap deal between Samuel Castillejo and Florian Thauvin.
