AC Milan plan to sell 2 players in January

AC Milan need to offload several unwanted players in January. Maldini and Massara are working finalize two sales.

AC Milan are expected to make one or two signings in the January transfer window. The management must also take into account that two key players like Kessie and Bennacer will leave for the African Cup.

Sales in January are also an important part of Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara’s job. AC Milan will try to offload Andrea Conti and Samuel Castillejo when the winter mercato opens. The two should have left during the summer but the Rossoneri were not pleased with the offers arrived so both stayed. However, they are not part of the project and coach Stefano Pioli is not counting on either.

The contract of Andrea Conti expires at the end of the season so AC Milan are asking a modest fee of just 2 million euros for the Italian right back. Sampdoria remain interested in his services. The former Atalanta defender has not played a single minute this season, totally closed by Calabria, Florenzi and Kalulu.

As for Castillejo, his future could still be in Serie A. New Genoa coach Andriy Shevchenko would like to have the Spanish right winger under his orders according to reports. The 26-yer-old has made just three appearances so far. He contributed in the comeback victory against Hellas Verona but that will not impact his situation.

Unlike Conti, Castillejo’s contract expires in June 2023. AC Milan have set an asking price of 6 million euros for the 26-year-old right winger who earns an annual salary of 1.5 million. The Rossoneri hope to recoup around 8 million after spending €45 million for the two.
