SM: AC Milan plan revolution in midfield with 3 new signings

Pioli Maldini

AC Milan are preparing for a revolution in midfield. The Rossoneri try to bring at San Siro three new midfielders.

AC Milan will start to move for concrete names on the transfer market by the end of August when holidays are over. Now the management is planning and, according to Sportmediaset, Milan want to revolutionize their midfield.

The midfield is a crucial department for the Rossoneri with important names expected to arrive this summer. Giacomo Bonaventura and Lucas Biglia have left while Rade Krunic could soon follow his former coach Marco Giampaolo at Torino. Lucas Paqueta remains on the market and for the right offer he can leave.

Maldini has three important names on his list of targets for the midfield: Tiemoue Bakayoko, Florentino Luis and Matteo Pessina. The French midfielder is awaiting a response from Chelsea, who continues to ask for more than 20 million to let him go, while an agreement has already been reached with the player. Very likely Bakayoko’s signing will be completed in the last days of the summer transfer window as the Rossoneri look to lower his price tag to 20 million at most.

Positive news from Portugal with Benfica open to let Florentino Luis leave on loan with the obligation to buy for €30 million. A welcomed solution for AC Milan. The 20-year-old defensive midfielder has had a tense relationship with Benfica this season and is continuously pushing to join the Rossoneri. Maldini would gladly bring him at San Siro.

Matteo Pessina is the last name and the simplest to reach because the Rossoneri enjoy a percentage on his future resale, which would allow the club to buy the player at half of his usual price. AC Milan have made an official offer of 6 million euros but Atalanta want 10 million. Pessina is seen as the ideal replacement of Paqueta. In this way coach Stefano Pioli will have at least four regular starters in midfield as he requested.
