AC Milan plan 3 sales to make top signing
AC Milan are planning three important sales in order to finance a move for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.
AC Milan are preparing a treasury for the January transfer window. The position in the ranking will influence the choices of Elliott Management but, with the Rossoneri in the race for a place in Champions League, an important gift is expected for Stefano Pioli. In addition to the 15 million euros put aside for a new defender, Milan have an ambitious plan to fund a move for Dominik Szoboszlai.
As reports by Calciomercato.com, AC Milan are thinking of three sales: Andrea Conti, Leo Duarte and Samu Castillejo. They are three players who, so far, have not been much helpful to the Rossoneri cause. If the right offers were to arrive, the Rossoneri would have no trouble letting them go. The important thing for the club is to avoid losses. Conti has been on Parma’s radar for quite some time and AC Milan are ready sell him if an offer of at least 8 million euros arrive.
Leo Duarte, the defender bought a year ago from Flamengo, is instead valued at 7 million euros. The 24-year-old centre back has never managed to settle in Italian football. In addition, he has suffered several physical problems in recent months. Duarte has recently returned to training but Pioli prefers Matteo Gabbia. Waiting for Mateo Musacchio, who could soon climb in the hierarchy behind Kjaer and Romagnoli, the only untouchables in that role.
The third sale on Maldini’s list is that of Samu Castillejo. A possible return to Spain is looming for him. If Milan receive an offer of 15 million he can leave with Sevilla very interested in his services. Something more was expected of him this season, a definitive leap in quality which, however, is still slow in coming. He had done very well in the post-lockdown period but now Alexis Saelemaekers is the regular starter on the right winger.
After a breakthrough season last year, Dominik Szoboszlai is confirming himself as one of the best talents in Europe. In 13 appearances with Red Bull Salzburg so far the midfielder has scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists. With the national team of Hungary he played a huge part in qualifying them for Euro 2021. Szoboszlai has a release clause of 25 million euros and a number of top European clubs are interested in his services. On two separate occasions last season the 20-year-old was very close to joining Milan.
