AC Milan have decided to sell Patrick Cutrone. The young striker is free to leave if a club offers 30 million euros.
MILAN NEWS – Yesterday at Casa Milan, Paolo Maldini hosted Donato Orgnoni, agent of Patrick Cutrone. An important meeting where the fate of the 21-year-old centre forward was reportedly decided.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have put Cutrone on the market. The Italian newspaper reports that Maldini has informed Cutrone’s agent that Patrick is free to leave in case AC Milan receive an offer of no less than 30 million euros.
The reasons behind this surprising decision is Marco Giampaolo’s strategy for the attack. The new AC Milan coach will play with two strikers but he considers Andre Silva, and not the Italian, as the perfect partner for Piatek.
Giampaolo believes that the Rossoneri attack could be more leather with a second striker rather than with two centre forwards. While Andre Silva has proven successful in partnership with other players in attack, Cutrone has been a bit underwhelming alongside Higuain and Piatek. His departure could push Milan to sign Roma striker Patrik Schick, a protege of Giampaolo during his time at Sampdoria.
However, AC Milan want to include a buy-back clause in Cutrone sale. Similar to what Real Madrid did when they sold Morata to Juventus. Patrick was AC Milan’s top scored last season with 8 goals and 6 assists but his form suffered a dip this season with just 9 goals and 2 assists. The Italy U-21 star is one of the most in-demand Milan players on the market.
