AC Milan remain interested in Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca and have overcome Inter in the race for his services.
Coach Stefano Pioli and his squad are chasing the Scudetto dream on the pitch. The title fate is in their hand with nine matches remaining until the end of the season. Off the pitch, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are working to make the squad even more competitive for next season.
One of the priority of the management is to sign a new centre forward. Olivier Giroud and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are not enough while Marko Lazetic has yet to make his debut with the Rossoneri. Gianluca Scamacca is one of the names constantly linked with a move to AC Milan.
A summer derby is expected to take place for the Sassuolo gem. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that AC Milan have overcome Inter in the race for Gianluca Scamacca. The Italian striker has attracted the attention of both Milanese clubs with 12 Serie A goals this season.
Sassuolo are asking a fee of €40 million for Scamacca. That’s out of budget for Inter who are currently offering to sign Scamacca on loan with the obligation to make the transfer permanent at the end of next season. Giuseppe Marotta has failed to find an agreement because Sassuolo are not in favor of this type of operation.
Scamacca has been on AC Milan’s list of targets for a long time together with Vlahovic. Maldini considers him a very similar player with the Juventus star. AC Milan are reluctant to spend €40 million for the 23-year-old forward but the Rossoneri could include a same names from the Primavera squad to lower the transfer fee.
