Samuel Castillejo is set to return to La Liga. AC Milan are looking to sell the Spanish winger this summer for a low fee.
Samuel Castillejo’s future looks sealed. In the next summer transfer window the Spaniard will surely leave AC Milan. The Rossoneri are planning un upgrade on the right wing and there is room for the former Villarreal.
Alexis Saelemaekers will be confirmed but unlikely he’ll be the regular starter any longer. Stefano Pioli has asked for a player who can guarantees more in terms of goals and assists. Castillejo’s next destination could be a return in Spain.
Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that Espanyol are very interested in Samuel Castillejo. Espanyol suffered relegation last season but are returning to La Liga. The management of the Barcelona-based club wants to set up a team that knows how to guarantee safety without too many problems and that’s why they have targeted the AC Milan number 7.
After spending around €21 million to sign Samu from Villarreal, Milan have lowered his price tag to 8 million euros. This figure would make it possible to avoid a capital loss on the balance sheet but, nevertheless, it represents a significant loss.
Castillejo was part of the swap deal with Villarreal that included Carlos Bacca in addition to the €21.3 million fee in 2018. The 26-year-old right winger has scored 10 goals and assisted 12 in 106 appearances with the Rossoneri.
