AC Milan have opened talks to sign Chelsea right winger Hakaim Ziyech on loan. The biggest problem is the player’s salary.
AC Milan are back on the negotiations table with Chelsea. In recent yeas the Rossoneri have completed the signing of Fiakyo Tomori, Olivier Giroud and Tiemoue Bakayoko from the Blues. Now, AC Milan are traying their chances to get Marocco right winger Hakim Ziyech.
Ziyech is not a new name on AC Milan’s radar. The Rossoneri tried to secure his services last summer but their attempts were unsuccessful. The situation looks more promising this time as Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is working to reshape the squad under the club’s new owners and Ziyech is not in his plans.
The Guardian reports that Chelsea have held talks with AC Milan regarding the potential transfer of Hakim Ziyech. The 29-year-old is on the market and he would be open to joining the Serie A champions but an arrangement must be found regarding his salary, which is larger than Milan would ordinarily want to pay.
Ziyech earns around 6 million euros per season at Chelsea. That figure is a bit over budget for the Rossoneri who continue to be frugal in player wages even under the new owners. Milan would need to complete a deal before 2 July in order to exploit the advantages of Decreto Crescita but a quick deal is unlikely.
The Italian champions are counting a lot on Ziyech’s desire to change club this summer. Another sponsor of Hakim’s move to Milan is Romelu Lukaku who has told his former teammate about the beauty of living in Milano and playing in Serie A. Talks are not easy but Maldini is trying to give Pioli an experienced player this summer.
