AC Milan continue to look a back-up for Ibrahimovic and outcast Andrea Conti could be the key to landing a new striker.
Andrea Conti’s adventure at AC Milan is nearing the end credits. The Italian full-back has slipped down the pecking order. Coach Stefano Pioli considers Davide Calabria the regular starter and he is playing the best football of his career this season.
Often, when the former Primavera was rested, Pioli preferred to play Diogo Dalot rather than Andrea Conti. He has made only two appearances this season so the former Atalanta understandably is ready to leave. His future will almost certainly still be in Italy.
Fiorentina, Genoa and Parma want to sign Conti and Parma were very close to securing his services on loan last summer. However, AC Milan would prefer to see their 24 million euros signing join Cagliari.
The Rossoneri are looking a back-up for Zlatan Ibrahimovic while Cagliari are on the market for a right-back. Cagliari striker Leonardo Pavoletti, who has become a reserve of Giovanni Simeone, is one of the names AC Milan are considering as Ibra’s back-up reports MilanLive.
The experienced Italian striker, who in the past has played for Genoa and Napoli, is also a transfer target for Juventus and Inter. A swap deal (on loan) between Conti and Pavoletti would be the ideal solution for the Rossoneri. Andrea would get more play time and Pavoletti is a veteran player with plenty of experience in Serie A. It’s up to Cagliari to decided whether this deal is also suitbale to them.
