AC Milan offered Liverpool winger to replace Okafor

AC Milan and Noah Okafor will part ways shortly with the Swiss winger moving to RB Leipzig on loan until the end of the season.

AC Milan are looking to be quite active on the transfer market this January. The Rossoneri are on the verge of completing the transfer of Noah Okafor to Red Bull Leipzig. The 24-year-old Swiss left winger is set to join The German club on loan until the end of the season. Red Bull Leipzig will also have an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season for a figure of around 25 million euros. However, Okafor might not be the only winger to leave in January.

There is movements around Samuel Chukwueze as well with a couple of Saudi clubs interested in the former Villarreal. Chukwueze would prefer to stay in Europe while AC Milan are open to let him leave in case of bid over €20 million. Regardless of what happens with Chukwueze, AC Milan will need to bring in a new winger in January to strengthen Sergio Conceiçao’s squad.

Marcus Rashford has been linked with AC Milan but the Manchester United star is not a realistic target for the Rossoneri considering his very high salary. Recently AC Milan have been offered the opportunity to sign Federico Chiesa. The former Juventus star is finding life difficult in England and wants to return to Italy as soon as possible.

While Liverpool are flying high this season both in the Premier League and Champions League, Chiesa has not been able to provide any significant contribution. In fact, the Italian winger has featured only on 4 occasions so far collecting a meager total of 123 minutes of the pitch. That is way too low for a player that was considered a start during his stay in Serie A and achieve European success with the Italian national team.

Liverpool coach Arne Slot has hinted several times that Federico Chiesa’s physical form is not suitable for the Premier League and his speed is an issue as well. The chances of Chiesa earning more minutes at Liverpool in the remaining half of the season are quite low thus forcing the players to look for alternatives. For the moment, the response from the Rossoneri has been cold as they have prioritized other targets over Chiesa.
