AC Milan want to extend the contract of Franck Kessie. The Ivorian midfielder becomes a free agent next year.
There are no doubt on the importance of Franck Kessie for AC Milan. The Ivorian central midfielder has become a fundamental element of Stefano Pioli’s squad.
In 2020 the 24-yeard-old finally established himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A. The former Atalanta has improve a lot mentally but also tactically and technically. Progress that has removed all those transfer rumors that considered him expendable by the Rossoneri club. Today Franck is absolutely untouchable and the club is negotiating his renewal.
Kessie’s contract expires in June 2022 and Milan want to move in advance in order to avoid repeating the situation that occurred with Gigio Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu. Ivan Gazidis has already given the green light to Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara to negotiate with George Atangana, the player’s agent.
The parties have opened talks in January and AC Milan hope to close a deal soon. According to reports by calciomercato.com, Milan intends to extend Kessie’s contract until June 2025 and have offered him a salary of 3 million euros net per season plus add-ons. The current salary of the Ivorian star is 2.2 million. The Rossoneri have proposes an increase with important bonuses linked to his performance and that of the club.
There seems to be no doubt about Kessie’s desire to stay at Milan. The player has repeatedly declared that he is very attached to the Rossoneri jersey and imagines his future at San Siro for many years to come. Now it’s up to the management and his agent to find an agreement on the contract renewal. Meanwhile Premier League clubs are looking with great interest at his situation.
