Former AC Milan midfielder and current PSV coach Mark van Bommel is being considered as a potential replacement for Gennaro Gattuso.
The chances that Gennaro Gattuso remains AC Milan coach even for next season are practically zero. The Rossoneri are out of the top four and Champions League qualifications looks to be just a mirage.
Gattuso will guide Milan until the end of the season but the management is already looking for his replacement. According to Tuttosport and La Repubblica, Elliot is considering the name of former AC Milan midfielder Mark van Bommel.
Van Bommel played for the Rossoneri for 18 months and was one of the protagonist of the last Scudetto trophy won by AC Milan in 2011. The former Netherlands international is now the manager PSV Eindhoven. PSV together with Ajax battle for the Eredivisie title this season.
The 42 year old is coaching a young side of very talented players like Hirving Lozano, Bergwijn, Pereiro and Malen. Elliot believes that the new coach of Milan must be able to work and enhance the Rossoneri group populated with young players. Bayern Munich are also interested in him.
