AC Milan striker Rafael Leao is one of the targets Barcelona are considering to sign next year to replace Luis Suarez.

Barcelona have decided: next year, regardless of Luis Suarez’s permanence or not, the Blaugrana will buy a new striker. Among the targets of the Spanish giants are Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Donyell Malen (PSV Eindhoven), Victor James Osimhen (Lille) and AC Milan youngster Rafael Leao.

Of the summer signings, Leao is the only one who has played in five games. Theo Hernandez too has become a regular starter after recovering from an injury while Duarte, Krunic and Rebic have rarely seen the pitch so far. A bit better the situation of Isamel Bennacer who alternates with Biglia at the center for the midfield.

The 20-year-old Portuguese striker has scored one goal and has provided one assist in five appearances for a total of 297 minutes on the pitch. The former Lille is establishing himself as one of the most exciting talents of Serie A and AC Milan’s best players.

His performances have not gone unnoticed with Barcelona ready to trust him a leading role next season. AC Milan invested €25 million to sign Rafael Leao from Lille but his price tag has more than doubled to €60 million. And that’s just the base price, if his form continues to improve Leao could be worth more at the end of the season.

However, that doesn’t mean AC Milan will sell their gem after just one year at San Siro. Paolo Maldini has a close relationship with Leao and sacrificed Cutrone in the summer in order to sign the Portuguese talent. The Rossoneri want to keep improving their squad but Elliot’s plan has always been to make a profit from the sale of talented young players.
