AC Milan identify Musacchio replacement
Mateo Musacchio is expected to leave AC Milan at the end of the season but Massimiliano Mirabelli has already identified his replacement.
The Argentine centre back arrived at San Siro last summer for a considerable fee of 18 million euros from Villarreal, strongly desired by former coach Vincenzo Montella but his last appearance dates back on 23 December in AC Milan-Atalanta, ended 0-2. From that moment on, also due to some physical problems, he has not played a single minute.
On the other hand, at this moment, it is impossible to remove Leonardo Bonucci or Alessio Romagnoli from the starting line-up. The duo has been simply impeccable in 2018 and coach Gattuso still hasn’t given them any rest despite the busy schedule of the Rossoneri. His departure at the end of the season is inevitable.
Musacchio has many fans in Spain but it is clear that AC Milan do not want to blow up an important investment and would like to recoup what they paid for him. The 27 year old defender has a contract until 2021, so the red and black could think of offering him on loan with the right to make the mover permanent.
To replace him, the club has identified Ivan Marcano. The Spanish 30 year old centre back is a regular starter for Porto and has a lot of experience at international level. His contract with the Portuguese club expires at the end of the season and he can join a new club on a free transfer. Another zero cost target for Mirabelli who has already close free transfers for Strinic and Pepe Reina with Ki Sung-Yueng next. The Rossoneri need to be quick to secure Marcano’s services because Valencia is also interested in him.
