AC Milan have officially completed the signing of Luka Jovic on loan after transfers for Daka and Rafa Mir collapsed today.
AC Milan have finally landed their striker after a very tiring week. The Rossoneri had initially reached an agreement to sign Mehdi Taremi from Porto but everything collapsed yesterday. The Rossoneri had already booked medicals for the Iranian striker but his new agents decided to change the terms of the agreement asking for a very high commission fee rumored to be up to €10 million.
AC Milan immediately pulled the plug on the Taremi deal. After than AC Milan closed an agreement with Leicester City to sign Patson Daka on loan but even that did not go through because being a non-EU player, the Rossoneri couldn’t complete the visa procedure in time. Bad luck followed even after an agreement was reached for Rafa Mir.
AC Milan had agreed to sign the Spanish striker on loan with the option to make the transfer permanent for a total fee €15 million. However, even this transfer collapsed because Sevilla weren’t able to find a replacement for Rafa Mir in time. Under such conditions, and with time ticking, AC Milan returned to Luke Jovic.
As acmilaninfo.com had already reports, Luka Jovic was always the plan B if the Rossoneri would not be able to get their targets and so it happened. AC Milan have signed Luka Jovic on loan for one year from Fiorentina. The Rossoneri will be covering the entire salary of the 25-year-old Serbian striker but they will not be paying a loan fee to Fiorentina.
That’s because Jovic’s contract with the Viola expires in one year. Although both parties have the option to extend it for two more years. Jovic had a mostly positive first season in Italy scoring 13 goals and providing 5 assists across 50 appearances. He arrived in Italy after failing to justify the €63 million fee Real Madrid paid for his services in 2019. Jovic thus will complete AC Milan’s attack alongside Olivier Giroud and Noah Okafor.
