After Diaz, Real Madrid offer new signing to Milan
AC Milan and Real Madrid are negotiating the possible transfer of attacking duo Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic to San Siro.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – Today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport focuses on Maldini’s important trip to Madrid. The technical director of the Rossoneri has an appointment with Real to speak clearly about the mercato. Real Madrid have offered Mariano Diaz to AC Milan. The 26-year-old striker found very little space last season but he is not the only topic of discussion between Milan and Real.
The other name is that of Luka Jovic, 21-year-old striker for whom Real Madrid paid €60 million to sign him Eintracht Frankfurt but not central in Zidane’s tactical project. Los Blancos are willing to offer Jovic on a season-long loan without the right or obligation to buy.
Mariano Diaz would cost a lot less than Luka Jovic, about 20 million euros, but his salary is very high. Diaz excelled at Lyon scoring 21 goals in his first season in France thus convincing Real Madrid to activate his buy-back clause for a figure of more than 20 million. However, he failed to live up to expectations finding the back of the net just on 4 occasions last season.
AC Milan are considering Mariano Diaz as an alternative to Angel Correa but are willing to wait for the Argentine striker until the last moments of the summer transfer window. Just like Diaz, Jovic is also a centre forward than can be adapted as second striker. Real Madrid believe that the difficulties concerning the Correa affair will push Milan towards their players.
Waiting for a new addition in attack, coach Marco Giampaolo continues his work in progress, aware that there is still a lot of work to do. The new signings have played a few minutes while Suso has to confirm himself in official games. While the idea of Lucas Paqueta as attacking midfielder has been rejected by the coach, Bonaventura has emerged as a perfect profile for the role.
