AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu was a wanted man on the mercato but the Rossoneri have decided to keep him.
Everything can happen in the last remaining days of the summer transfer window. The Rossoneri are still planning to make a couple of signings before the end of the mercato. Florenzi has arrived from Roma, Pellegri joins from Monaco and Bakayoko is on his way. At the same time, Maldini is trying to offload several players.
Andrea Conti is sure to leave and is considering all offers. A Genoese derby is taking place for his services with both Genoa and Sampdoria interested. A return to his former club Atalanta is also a possibility. Surprisingly, one player who is staying put, is young defender Pierre Kalulu.
AC Milan have made the tough call to keep Kalulu in their squad this season. The French right back had many offers from Italy and outside to move on loan but the Rossoneri decided to keep him.
The 21-year-old is a very versatile player and his flexibility could in fact be useful to Stefano Pioli. The AC Milan coach will have the opportunity to use Pierre both as central defender and as a full-back.
Pierre Kalulu was promoted from the Primavera to AC Milan’s first team last season. In his first year at San Siro, the former Lyon defender made a surprising 18 appearances, even finding the back the back of the net on one occasion against Genoa. The maturation process continued with the call-up to the Olympic games with the France U-21 squad.
