AC Milan are moving to renew the contract of Zlatan Ibrahimovic offering to double his current wages to €7 million.
Someone had doubts about the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan, however, the Swedish champion has showed he could still be important for the Rossoneri. Despite being 38-year-old, Ibra is still one of the best players in Serie A.
Zlatan’s impact has been absolutely positive at Milan, where his teammates have taken him as an example and manage to give something more on the pitch compared to before. The presence of such an experienced player that has won countless trophies is helping the squad a lot. Though he is not as prolific as he was ten years ago, Ibrahimovic remains a formidable force in front of the goal.
Ibrahimovic’s contract expires in June 2020 and it includes an automatic renewal only in the event of Champions League qualification. It is unlikely that AC Milan finish the season in fourth place considering the 9 points of distance with Atalanta. However, the Rossoneri club are willing to keep Zlatan even for next year.
Sportmediaset confirms that Milan have made concrete steps in this direction. The management will offer Ibrahimovic a one-year extension of 7 million euros plus bonuses to keep him at San Siro also for the next season. A figure that is about twice what the Swedish striker currently earns for 6 months. A very rich proposal, considering his age. The parties could also discuss the future of the striker after his football career ends.
This is Ibra’s second spell with AC Milan. Zlatan played for two years between 2010-2012, winning the Scudetto and the Italian Super Cup before move to PSG for €21 million. So far Zlatan has made 9 appearances scoring 3 goals and assisting one.
