AC Milan are working to sign Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo. The 27-year-old right winger had a great season scoring 17 goals.
The AC Milan management has clear ideas about the summer mercato. One of the priorities of the Rossoneri is to bring in a new right winger. Samu Castillejo is expected to change club shortly while Alexis Saelemaekers, despite being a key player for Pioli, doesn’t contribute a lot in terms of goals and assists.
Castillejo will likely return in Spain with Villarreal, Valencia and Sevilla interested in his services. Saelemaekers will stay and serve as a back-up for the new winger. As reported by acmilaninfo.com, coach Stefano Pioli has asked Milan to sign Sassuolo star Domenico Berardi.
Sportmediaset (via MilanNews.it) reports that AC Milan have opened talks for the 27-year-old right winger. AC Milan have presented an official offer for Berardi offering 20 million euros plus Matteo Gabbia. The young Italian defender has many admirers in Serie and the Rossoneri rate him at least €10 million.
The left-footed winger had a great season scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists in 30 league appearances. His form has attracted the attention of many European clubs, including the Rossoneri. Berardi has been rumored to leave Sassuolo every summer but the Emilian club have always rejected offers for their best player.
The Italy international has a contract until 2024 and Sassuolo value him around €40 million. Champions League qualification will allow the Rossoneri to make significant investments to strengthen the squad. Paolo Maldini is already at work to fulfill the wish of the Rossoneri coach.
