AC Milan have set their sights on young defender of Bayern Munich Lukas Mai. Many consider the German centre-back him as the next De Ligt.
Elliott has established clear guidelines regarding the future of AC Milan. The Rossoneri will continue to sign young players without making crazy expenses. Under these conditions Paolo Maldini led the summer transfer market, which brought interesting players in the squad but not yet ready for higher levels.
That’s why Milan’s project is destined to give some fruit only in the long run. For the moment the goal is to return in the top four positions, but the competition is very strong. Meanwhile, the management is already thinking how to reinforce the squad in January and, again, the focus is especially aimed at talented youngsters. According to report from Germany, AC Milan have expressed strong interest in Lukas Mai, defender of Bayern Munich.
The 19-year-old centre-back is being compared to Matthijs de Ligt for physical and technical characteristics. Blonde and 1,9 m tall, Lukas Mai looks a lot like de Ligt , but it is clear that the Dutch is certainly ahead and for obvious reasons.
Juventus paid €85 million to sign de Ligt while AC Milan are willing to spend 10 million to purchase Lars Lukas Mai. The German defender recently signed a three-year contract with Bayern Munich that expires in June 2022. Despite making two appearances with the first-team under Jupp Heynckes in 2018 he has found limited space ever since. That’s why a club change and a move to AC Milan is being taken into consideration.
The young German defender has very interesting qualities, although he must improve on his technique. However, there is great room for improvement. The Rossoneri for the moment are covered in defense but Leo Duarte seems unconvincing and Caldara’s fitness is yet to be deciphered. The Brazilian did not have an impressive debut against Genoa while, if Caldara breaks into the starting eleven, AC Milan will likely sell Musacchio to make room for Lukas Mai.
