AC Milan looking at Bayern midfielder to replace Kessie
AC Milan continue to look for new players that can replace Franck Kessie if he leaves at the end of the season.
While Stefano Pioli is busy giving AC Milan a stronger identity and trying to win the Scudetto, there is another part of the club that works underground to give the Italian coach the necessary players for the present and the future.
With Franck Kessie’s situation increasingly on the balance, the Rossoneri are forced to look around for a possible replacement for the Ivorian midfielder. In this start of the season Kessie seems slightly disoriented perhaps by the many mercato rumors about his future. MilanLive.it reports that Corentin Tolisso is a new name on AC Milan’s orbit as an alternative to Kessie.
The contract of the Bayern Munich star expires at the end of the season and so far renewal negotiations have been unsuccessful. The French central midfielder is not a regular starter under Julian Nagelsmann and very likely he will change club at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, Tolisso’s wage is a problem for interested clubs. The 27-year-old World Cup winner currently earns around 7 million euros per season. That’s a figure out of budget for the Rossoneri and other clubs. He must agree to a pay cut if he wants to join AC Milan.
The management hasn’t completely lost hopes on keeping Kessie but have informed the player and his agent that Milan will not break the bank to convince Franck to stay. Maldini is monitoring closely the situation of Tolisso and other transfer targets.
