The management of the new AC Milan, after the transfer of ownership from the Chinese president Yonghong Li to the Americans of the Elliott Management fund, is not yet complete.

The Rossoneri are still in search of a figure that can act as a direct link with the ownership and keep track of accounts and corporate expenses, in practice a CEO who Milan plan to formalize within the first half of September, with Arsenal’s Ivan Gazidis always in pole position. But the role of the new sports director is still void, that is the substitute of Massimiliano Mirabelli, a character chosen by the Chinese to lead the transfer market moves and also captain the work of the Rossoneri talent-scouts around the world.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan could trust this task once again to Leonardo. In fact, in addition to being hired by the club in the role of director of the technical area, the Brazilian could extend his competences. It seems that the former playmaker in the fall will begin the course to become a full-fledged sporting director, although at curriculum level he can safely boast already similar roles.

In this way Leonardo will be able to manage the whole transfer market area of AC Milan, personally deciding scouting strategies, taking care of the incoming and outgoing operations and dealing with a staff chosen by him in person.
