AC Milan set sights on best French right back

Leo Dubois

AC Milan will sell Davide Calabria and buy a new right back. The Rossoneri have joined the race for Lyon defender Leo Dubois.

In summer, the arrival of a new right back is practically certain. AC Milan are disappointed with the performances of both Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti this season. The former Rossoneri Primavera player is the most likely to leave while Conti could stay.

Despite the underwhelming performances Milan have chosen to sell Calabria instead of Conti also for financial reasons. In fact, the Rossoneri can make an important capital gain with Calabria’s sale because as a former Primavera player he has a zero cost on the club’s budget. Fiorentina and Bologna are in the front line but also Spanish clubs and Napoli. Former coach Gattuso is on the market for a new right back.

With the sale of Davide Calabria the Rossoenri must sign a new full back. The new idea of the management arrives from France, where the championship has officially ended. Leo Dubois has been one of the best performers in Ligue 1 this season.

The 25-year-old Lyon player was named by L’Equipe as the best right back in this season’s best 11. Dubois is a profile that fulfills AC Milan’s transfer policy and the Rossoneri are very attentive to the players of the French league.

The price tag of Leo Dubois it’s not prohibitive. Also because of the Coronavirus emergency, Lyon are willing to sell Dubois for a fee of 12-15 million euros. This season Dubois made 23 appearances with Lyon and since 2019 he is part of the French national team.
